Let me start off by saying, buy the CD (even though i may be the only person in America who still buys Cd's lol) . The art work is beautiful and you leave the store feeling like you have a bite-size piece of bliss in your hands . Me personally ? i popped the CD into my car and lost my breath . in fact, it took me an hour just to get past the first song ...i played it repeatedly . im still stuck in awe =O

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is just that . It eloquently blends the distinctions of grotesque and gorgeous . Kanye takes his time on this album, nothing seems forced or rushed . In "All of the Lights" for example, opens with violins and piano playing for a cool minute ... before Rihanna even begins to sing. It gives time to take in the essence of the music . Quite frankly, this CD is for his musically inclined, instrument-appreciative, artistic fans/listeners . Some complain that the tracks are not cohesive, i argue that West provides versatility. On one end of the album you can have blame game, and the next you get Monster. The CD is "twisted" for a reason . It's schizophrenia at it's finest :) the album is not strictly for hip-hop lovers, it blends so many genres at the same time . ahhh, im in love . So, i cannot be mad at the people who dislike the album ... they just dont know how to listen to it .

SO . this runaway mini movie is getting so much buzz .
some people are saying that it is pure genius while others are claiming that his celebrity blinds the audience .

okay , ... kanye's acting sucks for the most part . However, he is doing something that a lot of people cannot see . In Runaway, Kanye is resurrecting the idea of "high art". Throughout history, there have always been forms of art that were suspected to transcend the limitations and stigmas of 'common folk' . Kanye is doing that here with his movie - The cinematography is gorgeous , the music is clearly amazing, and the themes of the movie are going above people's heads . just that scene alone with the phoenix & the little lamb on the green lawn had me on stuck lol . These concepts about perception, conformity, and internal death shift Kanye's film from a gimmick to a new age of artistic expression :)

p.s. if you dont like the movie, so what ... the truth of the matter is... kanye stopped caring a LONG time ago :/

im a smidge late cause i hate puting videos up back to back . it makes me feel like a lazy blog poster lol . i like the video ... it's vigorous and artistic , thoughtful . three points to be made :

1. isnt this video a bit late ? i mean, i love 808s & heartbreak . . . but where did this video come from ?

2. kanye is definitely a harry potter geek (like me) . those hooded figures are 'dementors' lmfbo ...you tube em . i knew he was cool :)

3. kanye is really the only guy with back to back videos of him being completely absent ! (ex: flashing lights, paranoid, and now coldest winter) .

i can only testify for myself :

i am a kanye-ER. since i heard through the wire, i felt his sincerity. i felt his humor. i felt the level of the game, shift from beneath my feet & push me up until my ears popped . it was a high .
he was the underdog speaking to everyone with loser tendencies. the ones who were too honest about being insecure. the ones who were thirsty for a shot to prove themselves . between singing jesus walks in the car with my brother, and putting on my ghetto voice to say 'you mean talib, lyrics stick to ya rib? [i mean] thats my favorite cd that i play at my crib [i mean] you dont really know him...whyyy is you lyin?' i was hooked . he was simply too real for hip hop .

the next song that changed my life: flashing lights. i was driving in my car, top down in september when i popped the cd in with dallas . the beat dropped , and so did our heads . we screamed 'ooooooooooooh!'. i felt like a boy, but i didnt care, that song brought out the best in me . the beat was too sweet and hard at the same time. i fell in love.he gave me the dose of medicine that i never had as a child. i needed my kanye vaccine to deprive me of all the 'finger snappin, bling poppin, shootin niggas music'.

the realest song i ever heard. the drums tangled in my mind for hours and hours. the hollow beats and notes off in the distance made me picture myself with stones and water. crazy. he spoke with so much passion 'i admit i still fantasize about you'. it made me wonder who hurt him? can i hurt them? haha . SAY YOU WILL made me come to life . boom boom bing bing boom bing . before i heard that song, i felt like i stayed awake and sleep deprived for ten months. when i heard it, i felt like my body finally collapsed into 808 thousand count egyptian cotton sheets .
